Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is an Irish model and actress. She made her feature film debut with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to portray the an archaeologist who is sympathetic to Nazis, Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modelling after being offered by an experienced photographer. It led to a successful professional career as a model for commercials. Doody did not wear the glamour of thongs, nakedness and nudity during her modeling career. She was cast in a minor role as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was noticed by the director of casting. Doody was named as one of 12 Promising New Actors of 1986 by John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was just 18 years old when she made her debut in the Bond role. To date she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody played the role of Archibald's wife, Lilias, in his dream in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, she played Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. Then she took her greatest role as Austrian Archaeologist and Nazisympathiser The doctor. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors in the role of James Bond. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud called the Hitler Diaries. She then moved to Hollywood. She played Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After almost a decade away from the screen Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. Doody's roles included an appearance in a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 as well as a booklet on the Holocaust as well as a short film called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody made an appearance in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Doody appeared on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. Pam Jefferson, the character she played on E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season of two seasons. The show featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary. In November of 2018, she was awarded by the Almeria tierra de cine award and she received a star in Almeria Walk of Fame.
